On September 10, 2024, the Caucus will elect a chair, vice chair, and 10 Executive Committee members (one from each of the 10 jurisdictions in the Great Lakes region). The elected GLLC members will serve two-year terms beginning January 1, 2025.

The Nominating Committee is seeking nominations of legislators who are highly engaged in Great Lakes issues and are willing and able to commit the time, energy, and enthusiasm required of Caucus leaders. Members of the committee will review all nominations and identify a slate of candidates that reflects bipartisan balance, is representative of all jurisdictions, and is broadly diverse.

The nominating period will run from May 1, 2024 – July 19, 2024.

  • Nominations will be accepted from GLLC members.
  • GLLC members may nominate themselves, another GLLC member, or other legislators.
  • Nominated candidates must be members of the GLLC at the time of the election.
  • Any candidate for the position of chair or vice chair must have served previously as a member of the GLLC Executive Committee.
  • All nominees will be contacted to confirm their interest in becoming a GLLC leader and their willingness to serve, if elected.

To nominate candidates for chair, vice chair, or to serve on the Executive Committee, please fill out this form. The form will remain available until 11:59 pm CT on July 19.
