GLLC Web Meeting: Federal Policies on PFAS and Plastic – Slides and Recording
For the 2025-26 biennium, the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence Legislative Caucus is focusing its Birkholz Institute on Emerging Contaminants: PFAS and Plastic. To help prepare for the Institute, the GLLC hosted a web meeting on the federal policy environment in the U.S. and Canada related to PFAS and Plastic, particularly related to the presence of these compounds in water. We heard presentations from Andrea Densham, Senior Policy Advisor, Alliance for the Great Lakes; Cassie Barker, Senior Program Manager, Toxics, Environmental Defence Canada; and Karen Wirsig, Senior Program Manager, Plastics, Environmental Defence Canada.
